The Drug Division of Denpasar police raided a house at Perum Puri Gading, Jalan Merak, South Kuta, last Sunday (23/07), and arrested a Dutchman, NDL (46) for alleged possession of 0,83 gram of hashish.

“Based on intel we received on the ground, NDL was a frequent drug user,” said Wayan Arta Ariawan, head of the DEA. “But when we interrogated him, he said that he doesn’t use the hashish or any other drugs,” Ariawan said, as quoted by Bali Post.

NDL, who worked as a handyman in his home country and now has lived in Indonesia for 15 years, said that he received the hashish from a friend, MD, who is currently still at large. “The suspect said that he received it for free. We are still investigating.”

The police have also arrested taxi driver, SB (25) at Jalan Sri Rama, Legian Kaja on Tuesday (25/07) for carrying 13 packages containing 157 ecstasy pills, and based on his testimony, the police were able to arrest two more suspects: SB’s customers, YNP (19) and HM (17), who were tied in another case involving the stealing of a Honda Vario motorbike at Jalan Gunung Salak, West Denpasar. Meanwhile, SA (27), a satay seller, was arrested at the parking lot of a motel at Pidada Street, Denpasar, after he was caught selling a package of crystal meth worth IDR500k.
