An online motorcycle driver with initials D.I., 27, from West Jakarta was detained by Kerobokan Prison officers on Tuesday, when he was caught with a loaf of bread with 21 grams of crystal meth inside.
“We continue to investigate the prisoner who was supposed to receive the package. The evidence was found inside the bread,” Badung police chief, Commander Yudith Satrya Hananta told reporters yesterday.
From the information obtained by balipost.com, D.I., who lives on Jalan Tukad Pakerisan, South Denpasar, arrived at the prison on Tuesday at around 3.15pm. In the checking room, the package was examined by two officers.
When they opened it, they found a bag of meth inside the bread. D.I. was detained and the investigation began. The driver said that the package was being delivered from a woman named N.Y., who lives in South Denpasar. D.I. was told by N.Y. to deliver the package to a prisoner named A.L.T., 38.
The prison officers reported the case to North Kuta Polsek.
Police continue the investigation.
