I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport was ranked number one airport in Asia Pacific at the Airport Service Quality Awards 2017. The General Manager of Ngurah Rai Airport, Yanus Suprayogi, was quoted by nusabali.com on Wednesday, saying that the airport was voted the best airport in Asia Pacific in the 15-25 million passengers per year category. The awards are presented by Airport Council International (ACI).

The airport was ranked third in the same class in 2015 and 2016.

The awards are based on opinions on 34 performance indicators, such as airport access, check-ins, security screening, shopping and restaurant facilities, and restrooms. The survey questions and mechanisms are performed equally in every airport, to create an industry database that allows the comparison between airports.  Using scientific methods, tight quality control procedures, and neutral commitment on every ASQ survey evaluation has made it a global standard to measure the customer satisfaction of the airports.

“We feel proud and blessed. This is a birthday gift that we dedicate to Angkasa Pura I. The challenges that will be faced by I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will be tougher, because the amount of the passengers will increase and there are many demands and characteristics of the passengers. But, with the good synergy between all of the airport community, we are optimistic that we will get better in the future. That’s why I say thank you to all of the partners for all of their participation and active support in offering the best services to I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport users,” Yanus said.
