The management company at Ngurah Rai International Airport has started to construct a new, multi-level parking area at the airport. This was announced to the press by the General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Yanus Suprayogi on Wednesday evening after he presented and officially opened the Idul Fitri Command Post 2018 at the domestic departure area.

“We will construct a multi-leveled parking facility and I apologize to the airport users if there are some inconveniences because of the project. The new facility will be able to accommodate up to 1,100 cars,” he said to tribunnews.com. He also said that the investment of the project is approximately Rp 250 billion, and it will be completed after the IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting.

“It will take a long time to build, but we will try to finish two levels to welcome the IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting,” Yanus said. The location of the new multi-level parking facility is on the former of Regional IV Airport Authority building area, which has been leveled already. Yanus said that it was constructed to handle the increasing vehicle volume at the airport.

He also said that because it won’t be completed by the IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting, there is a Plan B. “We will park buses outside the airport and they will enter the airport if the passengers are ready to be picked up, so there is no congestion. The other plan is to remove the employee parking area, but that would be carried out next year,” he said to bisnis.com.
