Last Tuesday (13/06) a French tourist named Lambert Anthony Fabian was detained by Ngurah Rai’s Immigration officers for carrying 14 grams of marijuana powder and seeds.
Okezone reported that the Frenchman was flying from Kuala Lumpur on board a Malaysia Airlines flight. He was in the queue for passport stamp at 7.10pm, and around 7.45pm he went to the Immigration counter to hand in his declaration form. He then put his luggage into the X-Ray machine, after which the officer on duty saw something suspicious and immediately secured it.
Budi Harjanto, head of Ngurah Rai’s Immigration Office, confirmed the incident. “We detained a foreigner from France who was found to be carrying marijuana seeds and 14 grams of marijuana,” Harjanto told reporters yesterday. “The suspect is already in police custody.”
