Four inmates have escaped from the Bedugul Block of Kerobokan Prison, North Kuta, today and they are all foreign citizens. The identities of the escapees are Shaun Edward Davidson aka Eddie Lonsdale (33) from Australia; Dimitar Nikolov Iliev aka Kermi Bin Alm (43) from Bulgaria; Sayed Mohammed Said (31) from India; and Tee Kok King Bin Tee Kim Sai (50) from Malaysia.

As reported by Bali Post, the inmates built a 15-meter tunnel (measuring 50×75 in diameter) behind the prison’s health clinic. The tunnel headed off west to Jalan Raya Mertanadi, Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta. Meanwhile according to Kumparan, at 6.30 am this morning the convicts were still in their cell yet they were gone when the guards checked again at 8 am.

The prison warden, Tony Nainggolan, confirmed the escape. “They escaped this morning,” Nainggolan said. “We have already alerted the police and Immigration to help track them down.”

According to reports, the Australian man was convicted of one crime here in Bali, wanted for another in Perth, and only had a few weeks of his sentence left.
