A Dutch tourist, Robert Paul (54), died in the bar of Hotel Puri Madawi off Jalan Petitenget, Kerobokan on Thursday night (04/05/2017).
According to Pius X. Febry from Kapolsek police station, based on reports by bar employees, Mr Paul suddenly fell down and literally dropped dead.
The deceased had gone to the hotel bar with his wife. They ordered a beer and a bottle of mineral water. After serving the couple the waitress went back to the kitchen and not long after heard the screams of the man’s wife. When the waitress arrived back the man was lying on the floor lifeless.
“His wife asked to immediately find a doctor,” said Febry as quoted by Kompas.
The shouts were also heard by Muhammad Yusuf, the duty officer at the front office and seeing the condition of Mr Paul immediately sought help at the nearest clinic.
“The man was vomiting brown liquid and suffered uncontrollable urinating,” said Kapolsek Kuta Utara, Kompol Pius X Febri Aceng Loda, according to an article in BaliTribune
Doctor Indra came to the scene and tried to provide medical assistance but unfortunately the man couldn’t be revived.
“His life couldn’t be saved and the body was then taken by ambulance to RSUP Sanglah Denpasar,” said Febry.
There were no signs of violence.
