On Saturday (15/04), a German citizen with the initials PMS (30) was caught by Ngurah Rai Airport’s sniffer dogs carrying marijuana.

I Ketut Artha, Head of Bali’s Drug Enforcement Agency, said that the suspect was in possession of 1.53-grams of marijuana that was hidden in his backpack.

The arrest happened at the baggage collection area around 3.30pm, when customs officers grew suspicious of the suspect who was on the Taipei – Denpasar’s China Airline CI 771 flight.

“From there we deployed our sniffer dog to check the bags and the response was positive,” said Artha, as quoted by Sindonews. “Then we put the bag through the X-Ray machine.”

Inside the blue-gray backpack, they found an aluminum foil package that contained pieces of greenish brown dried plants suspected to be marijuana.

“We’ve detained the suspect and confirmed that he was carrying marijuana,” Artha concluded.
